On Wednesday 28th August 2024 saw the South area final of the county two wood triples being played on a neutral green of the sports centre bowls club, in the final were our own Ray Speigal, Mark Burnett & Steve Saunders, they were against Paul, Charlie & Liam May from Banister Park. The Atherley boys took an early lead and was in control of the first half of the game, but as the game progressed the Banister Park lads come back in the second half of the game to make a real tight finish, but Atherley boys managed to win 19 shots to 14.
So Atherley will now go to area finals on the 7th September 2024, representing the South Hampshire and will play North Hampshire in the semi-finals and whoever wins this match will play the winners of the East v West Hampshire in the final on the same day at Farnborough Bowls Club.
